One-way attack drone · One-way attack
Delta-wing symbolLUCAS
A US low-cost one-way attack drone built by SpektreWorks and reported as modelled on Iran’s Shahed-136. US Central Command fielded it with Task Force Scorpion Strike from December 2025, and Defense Daily reports CENTCOM confirmed its first combat use in strikes on Iran on 28 February 2026. Published dimensions and performance belong to the company’s FLM 136 target-drone variant; whether they match the deployed LUCAS is unclear.[1][2]

Human height is an illustrative 1.8 m; bus length an illustrative 12 m. Car length uses the cited MINI specification. Vehicle heights and drone side contours are schematic. Top views preserve published length and span; an absent dimension is never guessed.
One car length here is 3.821 m: MINI Cooper 3 door, March 2020 specification.

Form, sound & identification limits
- The Aviationist, 3 December 2025: “On Dec. 3, 2025, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) launched Task Force Scorpion Strike (TFSS), which will oversee the U.S. military’s first OWA drone squadron.” It reports that the design was reverse-engineered from a captured Shahed-136 and was first meant to emulate that threat in training.[1]
- SpektreWorks gives its FLM 136 target-drone variant a 350-nautical-mile range, six hours’ endurance, a 3 m length and a 2.5 m wingspan (as reported by The Aviationist). The same article adds: “It is unclear if these specifications reflect the ones of the LUCAS variant deployed in the Middle East.” The range is converted exactly (350 nmi × 1.852 = 648.2 km); none of these is a measured combat value.[1]
- Defense News describes a wingspan “of about 8 feet” (about 2.4 m) and writes that LUCAS drones “bear similarities to Iran’s Shahed-136 drones”. A similar layout does not make the two interchangeable: Shahed-136 values are not applied to LUCAS, and LUCAS values are not applied to Shahed-136.[2]
- Defense Daily, 28 February 2026: U.S. Central Command “has confirmed it used low-cost one-way attack drones in combat for the first time” in that day’s strikes on Iran, employed by Task Force Scorpion Strike with LUCAS built by SpektreWorks. Targets, numbers and effects are not established by this profile.[3]
- Iran’s army claimed on 25 October 2026 that its air defence systems “shot down a US LUCAS drone” over Bandar Abbas (CNBC-TV18, citing Tasnim). This is an unverified claim by a party; the archive dossier records it as such and it does not establish the model of any wreckage.[4]
Shape or sound alone cannot identify a drone. Follow local public-safety alerts; do not approach wreckage.
