Reports and later findings
What did the later investigations establish about the reports?

Frozen research edition ·
What the review establishes
The four selected dossiers do not support a resolved count of drones. Federal agencies described a mix of lawful drones, aircraft, helicopters and stars; later White House statements called the New Jersey flights FAA-authorized without releasing case-level data. No facility or airport frame has a later primary finding.
4 dossiers with reports · 0 with later established drone presence · 0 debunked · 4 open in this primary-source review
The denominator is four archive dossier frames, not four sightings: one statewide New Jersey dossier overlaps the Picatinny and Earle facility frames, and Stewart Airport (New York) is a separate frame. The federal total of more than 5,000 tips is not divided over days or dossiers. All four were reviewed; one has a case-linked later primary statement. Open includes missing primary evidence. No probability or confirmation rate can be calculated.
Overlap: the statewide dossier and the two facility dossiers describe nested frames of the same weeks. Each is counted once as a dossier; they are never added up as independent events. Three of the four dossiers are dated by an official statement, not by an event night.
One timeline · three separate measures
Daily archive counts and article views share dates, not units. Three of the four dossiers are plotted on statement dates. The axis breaks after 31 December 2024; the three later findings are dated publication markers, not counts of aircraft. Scroll the figure horizontally on small screens, or use the tables below. No attention data is inferred for the later period. After the break, publication markers are evenly spaced for readability; their spacing does not represent elapsed time.

Later primary findings
1 ·
A White House press briefing said the drones flying over New Jersey had been authorized by the FAA and that many were hobbyists. No case list, method or data was released. It does not withdraw the December federal assessment of mixed causes, so this dossier stays open under our definitive-presence rule.
After research and study, the drones that were flying over New Jersey in large numbers were authorized to be flown by the FAA for research and various other reasons.
Many of these drones were also hobbyists

In a House hearing, an Army witness referred to a separate 12 December incident at Picatinny and a counter-drone deployment within about 48 hours. The record does not identify the object or address the November reports in our Picatinny dossier; it is not assigned to it.
at Picatinny, when we had that incident on the 12th of December, we were able to take immediate action

A White House fact sheet repeated that the New Jersey sightings were FAA-authorized flights and not a national security threat. It adds no case-level evidence.

Selection and limits
Why this wave? It is the second wave with dated primary follow-ups that can be tied to existing dossiers. Gatwick (December 2018) has one dossier in its window, too few for a daily account. The selection is geographic and date-bound, not by outcome or keyword.
Frozen archive edition: 2 November 2026. Select countryCode=US, event or statement dates from 18 November through 31 December 2024, all categories, with recorded coordinates within 200 km of a fixed point in central New Jersey (40.06, −74.41). The radius covers the whole state; any radius from 164 to 379 km yields the same four dossiers, below 163 km the Stewart frame drops out. Each dossier is counted once on its recorded date; statement dates are marked and are not event nights. Updates add no dossier.
Archive status is the status in the frozen edition, not necessarily what was known on the event day. Source corroboration is separate: editorial curation or multiple articles do not establish drone presence. “Not established” does not mean “debunked”. Official national findings cannot be assigned to an unnamed individual dossier.
