ANR’s update, carried by Info Sud-Est at 11:55 EEST (08:55 UTC), reports five recovered and seven missing out of twelve aboard. Earlier reports gave four safe and eight missing; these are successive snapshots, not additional casualties.

Romania's president, whose country is not a party to the war, said two aerial drones hit the two ships near Sulina; Spotmedia and the BBC report his statement. He gave no further details and said the authorities wanted all the data first. Earlier, Digi24 relayed unconfirmed accounts of drones from seafarers nearby; Info Sud-Est relays the naval authority's rescue statements.

Not established

Who launched the drones, how many hit this ship and the exact time of the strike are not established. The emergency alert was around 07:00 EEST (04:00 UTC). Whether the ship was inside Romanian territorial waters is reported inconsistently; the place is kept at sea level and the map marker does not locate the vessel.

Not established. The president declined to say whether the attack was deliberate or whether Russia was behind it.
