DRONELEDGER / Press factsheet
Wing Loong II / Yilong-2
A compact selection from this profile, with sources and limits. Other configurations and additional measurements remain in the full profile.
A Chinese medium-altitude, long-endurance reconnaissance and strike aircraft. First-flight reporting in 2017 attributes the performance figures to AVIC. AP and Xinhua are separate reports but share the developer’s specification origin; they are not two independent flight tests.[1][2]
Public-source profile. Performance claims are attributed; type links do not verify an incident identification.
Form, sound & identification limits
- Wing Loong II is not the earlier Wing Loong I. AP explicitly says AVIC did not disclose the II’s price; the predecessor’s reported price is not a unit-cost observation for this aircraft.[1]
- External carriage, maximum takeoff mass and endurance are different metrics. No source-bound length was established here, so only the reported span receives a one-axis scale.[1][2]
Shape or sound alone cannot identify a drone. Follow local public-safety alerts; do not approach wreckage.
