FIELD GUIDE / DRONE ATLAS / 01
Uncrewed surface vessel · Maritime · mission-dependent
USV symbolKatran · USV family
A Ukrainian family of uncrewed surface vessels developed by MAC HUB, with roles extending beyond a one-way explosive boat. A separate Business Insider field visit documents a Katran carrying aerial drones. Venom and X1.2 are named configurations, not interchangeable specifications. No family-wide speed, hull dimensions, payload or range is inferred from demonstrations or industrial partnerships.[1][2][3]

Intervals preserve the published bounds; they are not statistical confidence intervals. A blank lower or upper bound stays open. Values belong to the named configuration, not every aircraft.

Human height is an illustrative 1.8 m; bus length an illustrative 12 m. Car length uses the cited MINI specification. Vehicle heights and drone side contours are schematic. Top views preserve published length and span; an absent dimension is never guessed.
One car length here is 3.821 m: MINI Cooper 3 door, March 2020 specification.

Form, sound & identification limits
- The maker’s October 2025 account relays claims from an operator about a completed mission and returning craft. It is an attributed operational claim, not independent verification of the mission result, payload or invisibility to sensors.[1]
- Jake Epstein’s field reporting and own photograph provide an original journalistic evidence origin for the drone-carrying platform. Statements about combat results remain the interviewed commander’s claims. They do not establish all proposed Venom or X1.2 capabilities.[2]
- Paramount’s announcement concerns cooperation and industrialisation. It shares a project origin with MAC HUB and is not counted as a third independent technical confirmation. Katran is kept separate from Magura and Sea Baby; no interchangeable aliases are added.[1][3]
Shape or sound alone cannot identify a drone. Follow local public-safety alerts; do not approach wreckage.
No licensed, model-attested recording is available in our sound library.
What does it cost?
Published USD figures use different price bases and years. Airframes, export packages and support are not equivalent. These are not current offers or verified production costs.
