DRONELEDGER / Press factsheet
Hezbollah Ayoub / Ayub
A compact selection from this profile, with sources and limits. Other configurations and additional measurements remain in the full profile.
The name Hezbollah gave to the reconnaissance drone shot down over Israel in October 2012. Nasrallah claimed Iranian manufacture and assembly in Lebanon. This is a named historical platform claim, not a checked manufacturer specification or a synonym for all Hezbollah aircraft.[1][2]
Public-source profile. Performance claims are attributed; type links do not verify an incident identification.

Form, sound & identification limits
- Al Jazeera reports the party leader’s statement; FAS later analyses the flight. Repetition of Iranian-origin claims does not produce an independent technical examination. Design origin is therefore left unset.[1][2]
- Neither checked source supplies a reproducible dimension pair, payload or endurance for Ayoub. Flight-path rhetoric is not converted into maximum range, and no identity with Shahed-129, Mirsad or Ababil is inferred.[1][2]
Shape or sound alone cannot identify a drone. Follow local public-safety alerts; do not approach wreckage.
